Fish for more than just Friday
Seafish is the UK’s authority on seafood. It works across all sectors of the seafood industry to promote quality sustainable seafood. With target audiences as diverse as fishermen, retailers, boat builders and food processors, we took the approach of developing a website tailored specifically to the needs of each audience group.
This involved preparing a clear content plan for each audience group and designing a website customised to each audience, whilst retaining a cohesive overall online presence. On arrival at the homepage, visitors are prompted to make a selection based on preference, with relevant content presented based on that selection. Naturally, audiences can change content views using the audience selection tool in the website header.
In comparison to the previous site, this simplified approach ensures each audience can find what they’re looking for and the new content framework makes for simple and easy client updates. The site is built around the Umbraco content management system and has integrated email marketing and audience profiling build into the email subscription process. For complementary content that cuts across all audience groups, some clever coding has been implemented that allows for this to be produced once and appear as many times as required.
With Seafish providing the seafood industry with information and guidance, there will hopefully be fish for many Fridays to come.
