Whitespace has launched a website for Love Music Festival which aims to encourage musical curiosity and experimentation and helps young people between the ages of 4 to 18 to explore the diversity, the range of music and associated cultures represented during the Festival.
The website’s resources support young people and teachers to explore a wide range of musical styles and to understand many of the different elements that make up the music. It includes social networking feeds on the Love Music homepage, animateurs pages, a download area, an interactive jukebox and a link to a separate sound map.
Main reasons to visit the site include:
- Finding out about the Festival, the artists and the animateurs
- Listening to and tag music in the jukebox, both independently and as part of structured lesson plans
- Enabling students to compose music and tracks using the Map Mixer (sound map)
- Gaining access to the resources on the Glow network
