Banking on reliability
Whitespace has worked on Bank of Scotland’s Corporate banking website since 2004. In 2007, when a new online banking platform called Corporate Online was created, the Bank needed a safe but creative pair of hands and once again turned to Whitespace to design the necessary brochures, welcome packs, user guides, form templates, intranet pages and demos as well as the service itself.
Our solution conveyed broad messages – reliability, control, ease of use, and security – as well as very specific information to help customers use the new application.
Tonally, it was important to reflect its futuristic aspirations but balanced against its simplicity of use. We commissioned a small portfolio of shots to encapsulate Corporate Online’s key benefits, which could be used across a wide range of marketing collateral including an online benefits demo.
The internal staff audience was important too, so it was important that the campaign created strong understanding and advocacy of the new online offering amongst staff that would be involved with customers both indirectly and directly but especially with the Banks’ Customer Relationship Managers who would be the frontline advocates of the new offering. In that respect the intranet played an important role in communicating the benefits of the new service.
