The Helix is happening

The Helix will create a new community greenspace on 300 hectares of unused land between Falkirk and Grangemouth, and will feature two huge Kelpies created by Andy Scott.

The £45 million development has been awarded a £25 million grant by The Big Lottery Fund as part of its Living Landmarks Programme, while significant funding and land has also been committed by Falkirk Council and British Waterways Scotland.

The project is being driven by a partnership of Falkirk Council, British Waterways Scotland and Central Scotland Forest Trust through the Helix Trust.

Bill Moore, Head of Communications for The Helix Trust, said: “I am delighted to be working with Whitespace on the creation of a new website for the Helix. The website will be an important tool in our efforts to engage with a wide range of audiences and inspire local people to become involved in the development and future running of the project.”

Iain Valentine, Creative director at Whitespace, said: “This is a truly innovative and exciting project, and adds a unique level of integrated engineering, social connectivity and enterprise to the Falkirk and Grangemouth area.”
