Queen of Tarts joins Whitespace

Queen of Tarts

Recent Whitespace recruit, Angela Dolan, is not only an Online PR Specialist but she’s also on a mission to bring afternoon tea back to Edinburgh – with her own unique twist, of course.

Angela has pioneered the Queen of Tarts venture as a pop-up concept, allowing her to create a unique afternoon tea experience anywhere in the city. This time the venue was her own front room, beautifully decorated with hand-sewn tablecloths and heirloom crockery. The event was publicised on Facebook, Twitter and via word of mouth allowing members of the public to buy a ticket and enjoy tea, cake and sandwiches expertly served by Angela and her family.
The first event was held as part of a charity fundraiser for the Westerlea Centre and raised £180 for the Capability Scotland service.

Bookings have already been snapped up for the next pop-up tea on 26 June. "We might hold that one in Libby's garden," Angela says, "it's a good, accessible space and it's also where the chickens that laid the eggs used in our cakes and biscuits live."

Afternoon tea doesn’t get much better than that!
