Full space for Talkspace 02

Not that we need much of an excuse but Whitespace HQ had another opportunity to showcase its new bar when it played host to Talkspace 02, in partnership with Creative Edinburgh, on Thursday 8th November.

Bringing together friends from the creative community in Edinburgh and beyond, the sold out event featured a diverse line-up of speakers covering a fascinating range of topics.

First up, photographer and curator David Grinly talked us through two of his favourite photographs of his home town of Alva using themes and quotes from a classic Russian novel.

Architecture graduate Euan Gray explained how the recession put paid to his dreams of becoming an architect in the normal way but thankfully allowed him to become the designer and maker of small, medium and tiny buildings for people.

After a quick interval to top up on a Melville's Fruit Beer or Tennent's Original Export, Tommy Perman from Found Collective gave us an insight into two of their most interesting recent projects - #UNRAVEL, a musical installation and live show featuring Aidan Moffat, and the Great Circle Commonwealth Games souvenir app for Scotland Can Make It.

Brilliant stuff. There was then just enough time for the speakers to answer a few questions and one last beer to round off a memorable evening.

A massive thanks to the speakers and to everyone who came along to watch and participate. Also a huge thanks to Creative Edinburgh for their help in making it happen.
