Cakes + Good Causes = Bake Sale!

Bake sale

Because we don't eat enough cakes in this office, and to show support to two of our colleagues who heroically put themselves through hell for charity recently, we decided to hold a Bake Sale.

Our heroes are:

Sonia, who successfully completed the Tennent’s Caledonian Challenge in support of the Scottish Community Foundation (a 54-mile walk, in less than 24 hours, along the West Highland Way – more than two marathons and with more ups and downs than two ascents of Ben Nevis).

And Kate, who completed the Edinburgh Moonwalk in support of Breast Cancer research (a 26.2-mile marathon distance walk round the streets of Edinburgh, starting at midnight and involving a lot of bras).

Whitespacers brought in a mountain of cakes, slices, breads and cookies, and between us we raised £134.90. The money will be split equally between two great causes – the Scottish Community Foundation and Walk the Walk.

We also had a wee prize for the Most Creative Baker won by Olly who made Parmesan and Olive Mini Muffins and Chocolate and Mint Cupcakes. Yum!
